A few days ago, I dyed my hair pink. An impulsive decision when shopping for fresh beauty supplies and I spotted a new permanent pink dye. I’m currently really loving it and hoping it’ll fade to a paler shade as time progresses and my roots start to grow out again.
Every once in a while, I get a much needed hair cut. However, since dying my hair silver nearly two years ago, I sort of forgot about getting it cut and focused more on maintaining colour.
However, summer is usually a time of change for me and this one has been no exception. I have a few festivals lined up so decided this was the perfect time to chop my shoulder length locks for easier maintenance.
I’m in love with the blunt cut of my new hair, having no layers or fringe to create fuss. Styling is seemingly easier and my hair is holding its style and colour much better than before.
Summer is quickly approaching and in Nottingham it’s perfect non-jacket weather. This cute crochet jacket/top I bought from ASOS (by Monki) is perfect as it suits as both an over top and jacket in one.
As spring approaches, theres something so lovely about not having to pile as many layers on. I find thin knits perfect for the transition between seasons, especially when worn with an overcoat. These knits from Zara provide the perfect balance between warmth, comfort and style.
While casually browsing Zara.com this morning, I came across the most perfect heels from their SS16 collection. White, vinyl and pointed; everything I could want in a pair of heels and at £29.99 these are an absolute steal! They also remind me of the Gianvito Rossi heels worn by InTheFrow, which I have been dying over for months – but for a fraction of the price.
For our current university project, we had to pick a product category to research into for autumn/winter 2015 trends. My group and I decided that denim was of particular interest to us and felt as though current denim trends were interesting enough to research about.
Firstly, we had to complete secondary research using WGSN and magazines to source ideas for what was predicted to be on trend. We then had to complete retail research in which we looked at how the trends had been developed into garments for consumers to purchase. After this, we then had to complete street style research to determine whether consumers are buying into these trends and how they’re styling the garments together.
My friend Dan kindly put together an outfit based around one of the current denim trends for me to shoot today, biker jeans.
For a while now, I’ve been searching for the ‘perfect’ winter coat ready for when autumn hits, but I’ve really struggled. However, last week I was browsing in some thrift shops near where I live and absolutely feel in love with this dark grey longline one. It’s a few sizes larger than I would normally wear, but I feel that gives it character, making it perfect for layering or throwing over my shoulders.
And for £10, it was an absolute steal.
