PHOTOGRAPHY / KEVIN RIEDL

Photography is one of my favourite hobbies, especially when mixed with architecture and the colours are clean and minimal.
I was recently browsing Minimalissimoย and discovered a post they had done on a photographer named Kevin Riedl, I couldn’t find much about him except for a website link and an instagram, and I couldn’t resist to follow him.
His photography is truly beautiful and I feel he captures architectural shapes perfectly within his shots, and the monochrome palette allows the smallest of details and shadows to become very much apparent. The minimalist nature allows the geometrical shapes of the buildings to appear very prominent.

I will definitely be keeping my eye out for more of his work.

BEAUTY / FRESH CUT

collage-39

Every once in a while, I get a much needed hair cut. However, since dying my hair silver nearly two years ago, I sort of forgot about getting it cut and focused more on maintaining colour.
However, summer is usually a time of change for me and this one has been no exception. I have a few festivals lined up so decided this was the perfect time to chop my shoulder length locks for easier maintenance.

I’m in love with the blunt cut of my new hair, having no layers or fringe to create fuss. Styling is seemingly easier and my hair is holding its style and colour much better than before.

WEARING / CROP CROCHET

Summer is quickly approaching and in Nottingham it’s perfect non-jacket weather. This cute crochet jacket/top I bought from ASOS (by Monki) is perfect as it suits as both an over top and jacket in one.

NOVELTY / HOUSE OF SUNNY X MINIMAL PHILOSOPHY

Last week, the lovely people at House of Sunny invited me down to their studio in London to view some of their current pieces as well as their upcoming Autumn/Winter collection and try on some of their garments.
It was an amazing experience which allowed me to get an inside view on how their beautiful garments are designed and made.

I tried on two outfits whilst I was there, one being their never seen before striped silk outdoor pyjama set which is part of their upcoming A/W15 collection which I am so in love with! The detail put into their garments is just amazing along with the fact all their patterns and garments are made by hand in their studio.

After leaving the studio, I did some shopping around London and went to the Oxford Circus Topshop which stocks some of their garments. I picked a few for myself; the ultra shirt and the ribbed crop top which I worn non stop since I bought them and I will be featuring them in many future blog posts.

Thank you once again to Sunny and everyone at HoS for inviting me down to their studio! If you haven’t already, make sure you check out House of Sunny for beautiful clean aesthetic pieces which can easily become staples in any wardrobe.

WEARING / VELVET LUXE

Monochrome outfit from an event I recently attended.
Velvet has always been a favourite of mine and I have recently again became in love with my oversized black t-shirt I got from a thrift store last winter. I paired it with my favourite white Cheap Monday jeans to keep the base monochrome. Then added my faux leather H&M jacket, H&M vagabond style boots and my white studded H&M bag to make the outfit more suitable for the event yet still comfortable and clean.
I’ve also recently loved doing my hair in a sleek back bun to keep it out of my face and neat.
